How Credible Is Ecohuddle When They Are Actively Promoting Consumer Products?
http://www.ecohuddle.com/products/
How does this make Ecohuddle any different than the fossil fuel industry sponsoring their message?
Ecohuddle is often linked to by one of this sites leading contributors http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj2l1WxPN4gmhCtej9fb.84HOXRG;_ylv=3?qid=20090929134316AAXWyur who seems to have a large amount of time devoted to spreading the global warming message – by linking to Ecohuddle – who are promoting green consumer products.

The ecohuddle link, if you ever bothered to click on it, goes to an article that summarizes the various causes of global warming. It has nothing to do with the product review part of ecohuddle, and virtually all of the claims within it are cited.
It’s just a convenience, rather than trying to regurgitate all of that information in an answer like this.

Compared to this link posted by a lead denier yesterdayhttp://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008…
The phrase “global warming” at the end of the first paragraph turns into a mouse over ad, after the page loads and it is for Shell Oil.
The ecohudle is more of a multi-choice thing, the sections I looked at offered detail (cars and motorbikes) on multiple competing products hardly advertising in the normal sense.
Even the Ralph Lauren “Spa” Organic Towels that you find so amusing is actually part of a longer listhttp://www.ecohuddle.com/products/catego…
that again offers reviews of competing products.

Oh how lovely at last somebody with a little creativity! So very nice to meet you.
How credible is it? Well there are links to good sources and solid research. Don’t trust me, you go back to the source and read the research, then make your own decisions.
The products: There is no such thing as an ecologically friendly product. There are some products more damaging to the environment than others, there are NO ecologically friendly products at all. Consumerism is consumerism. Conservation is the only answer; use less, buy less, reuse and recycle more.
Be an intelligent consumer who buys only what is needed. Just because companies want sell you their products doesn’t mean you need to buy them.

I notice also that car dealers are still and business in my home town and that also behind My college there is still a parking lot with lock out auto crime sign.
People still go to Wal -Mart also after that article on big box consumerism posted here a while ago.
Changing name not Green.
Speaking of which Green Peace wants reduction of toilet paper use and other people local hand crafted goods. Also small craft shops no shoppers but Wal-Mart parking lot full and Safe Way, and others even in places of 8,000 people.

You can look at the content and see if other credible sources (for example NASA, NOAA, USGS, NAS, EPA, educational institutions, UN, NIH, WMO, WHO) tend to agree or disagree with the content.

and we’re comparing this to what? exxon?
the same exxon whose 2007 world record net profits of $40,000,000,000
(give or take a few mil)
were only exceeded by exxon’s 2008 world record profit of $45,000,000,000
(again, give or take a few mil.)

Far more credible than most of the sites deniers post.

Ecohuddle is just a website that offered me a space to write my wiki. It could just have easily been on a university website or a domain of my own choosing. I don’t work for ecohuddle, and the website itself doesn’t even sell anything (the “products” are product reviews, not sales).
The credibility of the website is irrelevant. I don’t ask you to believe what’s in the wiki because of the website it’s on, I ask you to read the scientific evidence and make an informed decision on your own.
Here is a summary of all the scientific links contained in just one of those wikis:
NASA Earth Observatory
NOAA Paleoclimatology Program
Science Magazine peer-reviewed study
NASA GISS’s GISTemp
ACRIM’s Total Solar Irradiance satellite data
Max Planck Institute for Solar System Studies’ Solar Irradiance Reconstruction
RealClimate (climate science from climate scientists)
Peer-reviewed atmospheric CO2 concentration reconstructions
IPCC report references
NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center
Max Planck Institute for Chemistry
Another Science Magazine peer-reviewed study
Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics peer-reviewed study
U of Chicago Neutron Monitor data
Institute of Physics journal peer-reviewed study
Royal Society’s journal Proceedings A peer-reviewed study
Another Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics peer-reviewed study
Forget what website hosts the wiki, judge the science on its own instead of looking for reasons to ignore it.

I agree, I love it when certain people use ecohuddle, clearly a propaganda site as proof of what they believe. Then again the same person will post an article that shows three natural events dampening climate change but man is still the primary driver even though the temperatures have not followed the scare tactics.

They don’t like other people making money. When they are doing it is fine. You have to realize, these people think they are the smartest people in the room. They are better than the rest of us. They are smarter and more generous than others, at least in their minds.

My thoughts
1) ones personnel blog/website used as a reference multiple times. Dana if it is not yours you should really get your own. As many times as you reference it you are missing the boat. If it is truly not your website I am disappointed, I though you were an SEO master.
2) The amount of folks defending it. What is that?
3) Whats wrong with selling Organic Cotton Hip Hugger Panties or even Hippie Tree Hugger panties? good marketing goes after specific markets? I love capitalism myself nothing wrong with making an honest buck
4) ” It could just as easily be on a University website” Dude just because you rule a small fiefdom on YA does not make you an author or published. If the information is so good and truly yours try to publish it, submit it to your University. Don’t however make wild claims that are unsubstantiated.

In line with this and other complaints about eco freak lies and distortions I went back over things I studied years ago. From something I barely remembered from a study of Charles Darwin’s work it quickly became clear that way back when Darwin documented why the Maldives islands would continue to subside until they were only a ring reef like many others in the region. Apparently up until the warmers needed the fiction of global warming causing sea levels to rise the cause of the subsidence of islands of this type was well known and documented.
Interesting was that the subsidence of New Orleans and the Mississippi river delta are also well documented as are the city of Venice Italy and additional tectonic subsidence events in the Caribbean and Mediterranean regions. So once again it becomes very obvious that the goal of the warmers like all liberals is to raise themselves over the others around them not through superior efforts on their part, but by restricting the quality of the education the others receive.http://geology.com/news/category/subside…http://www.uga.edu/strata/sequence/accom…http://www.mona.uwi.edu/earthquake/files…http://www.geoberg.de/text/geology/07051…http://suvratk.blogspot.com/2009/05/mald…http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/geomorphol…
